The world’s changed. We are living in a whole new business environment, where physical events aren’t an option anymore. It is hard to believe, but we might never come back to our previous business environment. Thus, digital networking has become a solution for many businesses to keep functioning. Digital Networking is essential in any marketing strategy today. LinkedIn Events is here to support your networking strategy.
LinkedIn has now officially launched the option of creating LinkedIn Events for both individuals and company pages. This new feature provides the capacity for LinkedIn members to create and organize event pages to gain broader visibility, more engagement and increase the connectivity with the event’s participants. In any event’s strategy, there must be pre-engagement activities to boost the benefits of networking digitally. LinkedIn Event’s feature is a fantastic opportunity to carry some of those pre-engagement activities.
Finding the option within your LinkedIn company page might be a little bit hidden. Moreover, it is available for both individuals and companies. Therefore, we will show you how to easily find and create your own LinkedIn Event for your upcoming events in only five steps. Let’s dive into it!
First Step
For Companies
Go to LinkedIn –> LinkedIn Company Page (admin view) –> Admin Tools –> Create an Event
For Individuals
Simply go to your LinkedIn Home page and look on the left menu.
Second step
Fill in all the fields. Remember to always include the visuals (Logo and background picture) for the audience to recognize your brand. Pro tip: make sure you have a landing page for the event on your website to lead traffic to your site. The form is the same for both companies and individuals. The only difference is that you can choose whether you are the organizer or your company page if you have admin rights.
Third step
Start inviting your connections and attendees to the event. Remember, they need to be a first-degree connection to be invited to the LinkedIn Event. Pro tip: if an attendee isn’t a first-degree connection yet, you have a fantastic opportunity to reach out and connect, which will improve your connectivity!
Fourth Step
Start sharing relevant content on the LinkedIn Event page. This new feature allows you to share content exclusively with the attendees that are members of the LinkedIn Event, which will create meaningful and interactive conversations before the event happens. Pro tip: remember to diversify the content (videos, articles, infographic or others) and to add a compelling headline to trigger the interaction and the conversation.
Fifth step
In case your event is a public event, and you want to reach as much attendance as possible, do not forget to share the Event Page on your LinkedIn profile by simply clicking on the share button that we show you below. Pro tip: make sure your employees also share the LinkedIn Event Page to generate more engagement. Remember that employees generate 10x times more engagement that company profiles.
